There seems to be something not quite right with the new .4 version.
After the installation and running the service successfully, i registered a vmware test client (as the usual, like i used to do with earlier versions) and these funny behaviors experienced: - Server didn't reply to PXE request or timed-out (restarted the machine and service), noticed its an on/off - When it answer to the PXE request and start sending the initrd, it timeout again.... I did multiple service restart and checke d the server logs and run from command line (start-server.bat) instead of server and noticed the same. no specific error message (besides timeout notices) shown in the debug output as well. Before i start suspecting on the PC itself, i ran the older .3 version and voila, it worked very smootly. Tried booting and restarting server just to see if i would experience the behaviour with the .4. I didn't. it worked smoothly without any timeouts and such... Having noticed a couple of threads with TFTP and booting problem, i've decided to post my findings. On a separate note, desperately waiting for the HARDY update. How is that coming along, i would even settle with a rough time estimation =) cheers! -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Version-0.4-Server-Issues-tp21565744p21565744.html Sent from the openthinclient.org users' mailing list mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by: SourcForge Community SourceForge wants to tell your story. http://p.sf.net/sfu/sf-spreadtheword _______________________________________________ The Open Source Thin Client Solution http://openthinclient.org [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/openthinclient-user
