Hello, I am converting old PCs to thinclients by disconnecting the hard drive and then using openthinclient to run the hardware. The PCs have two scheduled tasks that shutdown the computer - one runs at 6:00 pm local time and the other 11:00 pm local time. (sometimes people start a computer back up after 6:00 pm so the 11:00 pm task catches that). I do this on the PC to keep Windows XP sane and to save energy. I would like to be able to schedule a shutdown of the client as there is no reason for them to be on overnight and was wondering if this is possible.
One idea I had was to create a "command line" application that autostarted. I used the command "shutdown -h 18:00". I tried both with quotes and without. It does not work and I see the following error in the client log <date time> , 449 WARN <MAC address> <IP address> user python: launcher: [WARNING] in: launcher.?(): Return Code not zero(None): cmdline: "shutdown -h 18:00" , return code: 32512 (as an aside, it would be nice to be able to copy and paste from the client log entries display - copy and paste doesn't work with windows xp) I am using version 0.4.1 on a 64bit windows 2003 server. The clients come up in kiosk mode and automatically open an RDP window so that the user can log into the windows terminal server. I'm looking for a solution that can be created using the Openthinclient Manager as I am not competent to make any changes to thinclient image unless the procedure is relatively simple and well spelled out.
