Hi there Alexander,

I understand the problems with the VMWare licensing. And yes... I already
inquired why there is not an open source version of the PCoIP protocol. But I
do know there are thinclients around having a Linux base and PCoIP... so they
do have a sort of an OEM program.

I did not expect the community version of OpenThinClient having PCoIP. But it
would be a real pull toward the non community version. Having that said... I am
clueless about what it would take to become a VMWare partner ;)

Anyway... thanks for your input.

Peter

As a side note:

I think it is really peculiar VMWare not having a VSphere client for Linux. A
bit strange for a company having done quite a bit with the Linux platform.

Hello Peter,

we would like to build a package with the VMware View client with additional
support for the PCoIP-protocol.
But the problem is the licence.....
At the moment openthinclient isn't a registered VMware partner. So we don't
have a free PCoIP-version.
Perhaps you can help:
Please contact VMware and ask them for a redistributable VMware View client
with PCoIP according to GPL2.
In other words: help to look for a free VMware client for linux which supports
PCoIP.

Thanks.

Hi there list,

Searched the archives for this but could not find any reference to PCoIP.

Have been using OpenThinClient for a couple of days now. Testing it against a
VMWare View lab. Although being amazed by the ease of use of OpenThinClient I
was wondering if the included VWMare View client will support PCoIP in the near
future. If not in the community version... will the commercial version support
it?
