Hi Martin,

OTC v0.4.5 did work successfully in the sense that the HP desktops were able to
successfully PXE boot into the OTC. So thank you for that suggestion.

What I am having issues with now is however is that when using the OTC on the
HP desktop the entire system freezes frequently. It is able to read USB
successfully, though I have not been able to test the sound yet (on account of
the freezing).

I am just wondering, could the OS version of the Server hosting the Management
console for OTC play a part in this? The OS is Ubuntu 10.04.2 (x64). I have
updated the BIOS on the HP desktop to the latest version available so I can
rule that out.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Adrian.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your response and the confirmation.

I will give the 0.4.5 version of OTC a go and will let you know of the outcome.
We will keep trying to work on the HP clients to see if we can get it going and
if successful I will inform you accordingly.

Regards,

Adrian Bell

Subject: Re: [openthinclient-user] Injecting graphic drivers

Hi Adrian,

I have the same issue with my old HP-clients since I updated to version 1. of
OTC.
As far as I know there is no way to get it run propperly...

if you find something, please let me know.

In 0.4.5 the HP Clients worked propperly, if you need them you can try this
version. Its Available here:

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to OTC so please bear with me. I have successfully managed to setup an
OTC server on a network spanning across multiple vlans, acting as a PXE server
for a numerous amount of workstations in a windows environment. The main
problem I am having at the moment is in regards to the GUI failing to load when
an HP Compaq dc7600 SFF desktop workstation PXE boots. I receive the
notification "Failed to start the X server (your GUI). It is likely that it is
not set up correctly.."

I am able to successfully PXE boot Lenovo T60 laptops without any issues at
all, only this particular desktop model I am having problems with.

I am guessing that the graphic drivers for this model HP desktop are not
injected into the software when the end-client is being PXE booted (Please
correct me if I am wrong on this). Is it possible to inject the necessary
drivers for this model HP into the software? If so what would be the ideal way
to go about this?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Adrian.
