DejaNews (Google) is a good bet for finding compatibility info re 850E & P4T533.
Nvidia based cards which offer dual screen capability are what one should look for. (This is one of the primary reasons that we talk about them in the first place) Assuming a "normal" dual-monitor configuration, in which two standard graphics monitors are to be connected to the computer, be sure to look for a clear picture of the card you're interested in, so that you can confirm the existence of a functional secondary 15-pin, monitor-out connector, or confirm with the mfg that the card either has the connector or has an included DVI-to-VGA adapter, as many product descriptions erroneously (or otherwise) indicate dual-monitor capability, when in fact the actual board has no such capability, either due to a missing connector or incompatible secondary channel. On the second caveat, often times it claims dual monitor capability (from generalized NVIdia chipset specs) when in fact then secondary channel is TV out only, which for most of us is a pretty worthless "feature" for a workstation. Not an AutoRouter-er, so I can't comment on the 512M vs autorouting perf query. aj On 02:18 PM 3/5/2003 +0000, DaleL wrote: >Hi, > I am in the process of building a System to run Protel DXP and had a >few question I hoped people would give there a opinion on. > >1) What kind of performance and routing speed increases will I get from >memory above 512M ? > >2) I am thinking of using as Asus P4T533 motherboard with the Intel 850E >chipset, does anyone know of any issues with this device ? > >3) And lastly I have heard that a nVidia chipset graphics adaptor is pretty >well favoured by DXP users, what type of nVidia cards are usually used, e.g >Gforce 4 etc... ? * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post a message: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * To leave this list visit: * http://www.techservinc.com/protelusers/leave.html * * Contact the list manager: * mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * Forum Guidelines Rules: * http://www.techservinc.com/protelusers/forumrules.html * * Browse or Search previous postings: * http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED] * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
