Hello,

The OpenVAS developers are happy to announce the fourth maintenance
release of the openvas-manager 3.0 module for the Open Vulnerability
Assessment System release 5 (OpenVAS-5). The OpenVAS Manager is the
central management service between the actual security scanner and
various user clients.

This release contains a security bugfix for escalator parameters and
fixes bugs related to scan config handling, hostname validation and
slave tasks. It also adds support for the duration parameter for
once-off tasks.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to this release:
Sebastien Aucouturier, Andre Heinecke, Matthew Mundell and Michael
Wiegand.

Main changes since 3.0.3:
* Security bugfix that quotes escalator parameters.
* Fixed a bug which made it impossible to create a scan config if there
was already a scan config with the same name owned by another user.
* Improved hostname validation.
* The schedule duration parameter is now used for once-off tasks as well.
* Fixed a bug which caused scan configs to appear to be in use when they
  were not.
* Fixed a bug which caused port lists not to be transmitted for tasks
  executed on slaves.

The source tarball for this release along with checksums and signatures
is available for download from the OpenVAS website at
http://www.openvas.org/. Binary packages for major GNU/Linux
distributions by third parties are expected in the following weeks.

Regards,

Michael Wiegand
