Hi.

Just wondering what the best way of upgrading openvas (3) from source.

I just mean a point release i.e 3.0.1 -> 3.0.2 .

At the minute I just delete/backup the old /opt/openvas3 dir then compile
openvas libs then the scanner from source from fresh.

Is there a better way to upgrade ?

I did just try to compile a newer version of the libraries and scanner over
the original version in /opt/openvas3, after doing that it seemed to get
stuck on the md5 check when running openvas-nvt-sync . Once I had removed
the /opt/openvas3 dir and did make install again in the new libraries and
scanner it was fine.

Sorry if none of this makes sense, its early and I have only have 1 cup of
coffee so far..........
