Not sure what is going on with this one...
In regards to my 2 server master / slave setup... The Slave which was just
recently commissioned shows 21013 NVTs in the OpenVas plugin cache but
21386 in the Manager DB...
On the Slave these #'s are equal... 21286/21386
I ran openvas-nvt-sync on my master showing the discrepancy, and also
openvasmd --rebuild to try to get these #'s of NVT's to match to no
avail...
Is or could this possibly responsible for results to come out a little
skewed?? e.g. false positives, etc..????
Here is a copy of the part of openvas-check-setup from my main...
Step 1: Checking OpenVAS Scanner ...
OK: OpenVAS Scanner is present in version 3.2.3.
OK: OpenVAS Scanner CA Certificate is present
as /var/lib/openvas/CA/cacert.pem.
OK: NVT collection in /var/lib/openvas/plugins contains 21013 NVTs.
Step 2: Checking OpenVAS Manager ...
OK: OpenVAS Manager is present in version 2.0.3.
OK: OpenVAS Manager client certificate is present
as /var/lib/openvas/CA/clientcert.pem.
OK: OpenVAS Manager database found
in /var/lib/openvas/mgr/tasks.db.
OK: sqlite3 found, extended checks of the OpenVAS Manager
installation enabled.
OK: OpenVAS Manager database is at revision 41.
OK: OpenVAS Manager expects database at revision 41.
OK: Database schema is up to date.
OK: OpenVAS Manager database contains information about 21386 NVTs.
Since the Openvas NVT cache # is lower can I safely blow away the entire
plugin directory contents then resync with --wget to ensure I get the full
package???
