Hello all,

I am installing openvas 5 from source in Ubuntu server 12.04(inside
virtualbox). I went through a lot of blogs and sites on that. I got to know
that most of the process are in the INSTALL files.

I am not able to proceed further as I think I have done something wrong in
the installation process.

I want to know few things during the installation(I want to install in
/home/manohar/OpenVASInstall directory):
1. When should be the following command run(before installing
dependencies?) if I want to install OpenVAS 5 in
/home/manohar/OpenVASInstall directory? What should be the path for me?
>From which directory should the command be given(any or specific)?
$ export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=$PKG_CONFIG_PATH:/your/location/lib/pkgconfig

2. When should the following command run? Is the dot(.) at last part of
command? (I think it should be run before make command.)
$ cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/path/to/your/installation .

I am having problem installing wmi.
$ bash install-libwmiclient.sh /prefix/to/your/openvas/install
The above command with prefix /home/manohar/OpenVASInstall returns the
prompt without any lines being printed. Is it working as it should?

Or
Can you please give me the process of installation till the successful
installation to wmi? I have searched and found that most of the
dependencies have been left in the INSTALL files. Can you please let me
know the complete dependencies to be installed in Ubuntu server 12.04.

apt-get install <complete_dependencies>

I will do the clean install again as I think I have messed up sequence of
many commands.

I am not able to paste the output errors of commands due to Ubuntu server
on virtualbox.

If you want to know anything more please let me now.
