Yeah, I JUST had this problem today. I had to renew the certs as below
and rerun openvas-setup. It maintained all of my tasks and users, but
would not take until I reran setup after recreating my expired certs.

Thanks a lot for that hint! I applied the patch, re-built and re-installed
everything, but it doesn't work either. But the error message changed:
