the nmap OS detection itself or the issue with the missing -p is unrelated to the undetected TCP port. The open port detection is done by the nmap.nasl script. Interesting would be how do you know / think that Port 1463 was not detected by OpenVAS? The Nmap OS Detection script got port 1463 passed to the port parameter. This means that OpenVAS knows that this port is open and it has identified it correctly as an open port. Or did the behavior changed if you're only using one single port instead of a portlist? > Starting Nmap 5.51 Mhhh, i'm suggesting to use Nmap 6.40 shipped with your distro instead of using a self-compiled and outdated version of nmap. The openvas-check-setup scripts recommends this version only if you want to run the NSE wrappers for nmap.
