I've noticed a few scripts that are starting to use the
RPM kb. Have these been verified to work on RPM based
systems? The thing that tweaked when I looked over the
code is the fact that when checking the RPM version number,
there seems to be (in at least some cases) no checking
what distribution one is on.

RPMs are known to exist on RedHat, Fedora, Mandriva,
TurboLinux, SuSE, Trustix (at least).
I'm worried that these scripts might be written on the
assumption that it is a RedHat system (with the RedHat
numbering policy, backporting, etc.) and subsequently
start tripping false on other distros.

Note that the current gather-package-list.nasl DOES set the RPMs
for each of the above distros.

Just wondering.
