Sounds great, welcome aboard!  Hehe, I would love to see a working SMB 
implementation (maybe a port of Core's Impacket library) but perhaps that's a 
little harsh as a starting point for discovering NASL.

Well, I see the others have made some suggestions, but other than that take a 
look at the common security mailing lists and pick something that interests 
you.  There are a lot of bugs reported in open source software so I'm sure 
you'll find some interesting things.
