I've just posted a patch to the openvpn-devel list for this ; you can 
grab an openvpn binary at
  http://www.nikhef.nl/~janjust/openvpn-2.3.7-dhcp-win64.exe

Can you test it and see whether the IP Communicator is now happy :)

Of course, you could also use a non-bridged TAP setup with an external 
DHCP server and do everything there ;)
