I saw https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/ticket/1209 but the resolution
isn't clear. The man page for 2.6.14 seems to imply that DOMAIN can only be
used once (but doesn't specifically state that) and DOMAIN-SEARCH can be used
up to 10 times.
Although the server will push both (at lease as of 2.5.something) the 2.6.14
update-resolv-conf doesn't refer to DOMAIN-SEARCH so it's ignored (I'm dealing
with Linux exclusively if that's not obvious). What I've discovered from
testing is that multiple DOMAIN directives work to produce a multiple domain
search list with the current update-resolv-conf.
I have created an enhanced update-resolv-conf if anyone's interested (don't
know if this mailing list supports attachments), the change is trivial (just
diff it). I probably could supply a systemd script if there's any interest,
just reply.
