I've integrated DbPersistedEngine and CachedDbPersistedEngine as well. You can for example run the small test suite by calling "rake dtest", works fine with sqlite3. "rake Dtest" runs the tests with the persistence without any caching, but it's not perfect for now, still tuning... I hope I will be able to test with MySQL (rake Dtest) tomorrow... Can get to install the mysql gem on Leopard...
