Did you both upgrade ruote-web2 and ruote itself ?
Is the error materialized by a "mysql has gone away" in the logs or is
it really the "I change the fields then hit save or proceed and my
changes are not take into account" ?

I used the latest version for a demo in my company with a helpdesk
process and it worked (I was just bit by a "mysql has gone away").
