Hi there, there's no fixed maximum number of devices in OpenWISP, how many it can support depends on your deployment and hardware resources.
If you need to limit registration of new devices at the moment you can use this setting: OPENWISP_CONTROLLER_REGISTRATION_SELF_CREATION <https://github.com/openwisp/openwisp-controller#openwisp-controller-registration-self-creation> . Regarding OpenVPN, it's possible to limit clients, please refer to the OpenVPN manual <https://openvpn.net/community-resources/reference-manual-for-openvpn-2-4/>.
