I'm getting little confused (partially because my original question was not 
precise).

(a) Make a patch that applies to the 610-MIPS-ath79-openwrt-machines.patch.

(b) Make a new patch that is applied to files already patched by the 610-MIPS 
patch
    and call it something like 
611-MIPS-ath79-openwrt-machines_add_wlae-ag300n.patch

In my personal impression, the option (a) would produce something not too
intuitive to look at...
