 I can't reproduce this bug anymore. It seems to me it was somehow related
 to "Wifi performance" bug with the mwlwifi module
 (https://github.com/kaloz/mwlwifi/issues/63). Since I upgraded to the
 lastest mwlwifi version also that "unable to connet" bug didn't occur
 anymore.

 My wild guess: When the mwlwifi drop the connection speed to a really low
 value, the connecting process got so slow, that it produced a time-out.

 Anybody else can verify this? Can this bug get closed?
