I think avpkt is a holdover from when qos-scripts used RED.
I note that I keep trying to find the time to make sqm-scripts readily
available in openwrt mainline, the packages come right over from
ceropackages with no mods needed. You can even install the cerowrt version
on top of nearly anything by forcing the opkg install, as they are just
scripts.
Notable features include correct ipv6 support, and support for dealing
with PPPoe and ATM encapsulation better that qos-scripts.
