#19648: 5GHz wireless drops during high load with "disconnected due to excessive
missing ACKs" message
---------------------------+------------------------
Reporter: Sasha_Beluj | Owner: developers
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: high | Milestone:
Component: base system | Version: Trunk
Keywords: 5GHz, dropout |
---------------------------+------------------------
Device: TP-Link Archer C5 v1.20 (same as C7 v2)
OpenWrt version: latest Trunk (13 May)
Problem: This was tested using 2 Samsung tablets (Tab S and Tab Pro). When
I'm copying large file from the network folder to the tablet wifi gots
disconnected every 1..2 mins. Here is the part from the log file:
Thu May 14 09:42:50 2015 daemon.info hostapd: wlan1: STA b8:6c:e8:54:d2:e4

Same situation while watching video from the network folder. As the result
5GHz band is totally unusable.
During low load (browsing websites) I haven't experienced such issues.
5GHz config:
wireless.radio1=wifi-device
wireless.radio1.type='mac80211'
wireless.radio1.hwmode='11a'
wireless.radio1.path='pci0000:01/0000:01:00.0'
wireless.radio1.htmode='VHT80'
wireless.radio1.disabled='0'
wireless.radio1.country='PL'
wireless.radio1.channel='auto'
wireless.radio1.txpower='19'
wireless.@wifi-iface[1]=wifi-iface
wireless.@wifi-iface[1].device='radio1'
wireless.@wifi-iface[1].network='lan'
wireless.@wifi-iface[1].mode='ap'
wireless.@wifi-iface[1].encryption='psk2'
The other problem is that the speed is really low (< 40 Mbit) - even on
2.4 GHz band speed is higher. But I believe this needs to be a separate
ticket.
