I've encountered some issues while connecting from france to
ftp.all.kernel.org, so I've asked the ftpadmin. He responded that they got
a DoS attack started two years ago. So they turned off any access from
france to the ftp service.
Further he responeded that the service will eventually shutdown anyway in
less than a year.
So we should review our source-urls and change them to http(s)-only, first
to prevent users from france to be unable to build openwrt, second to
prevent build-failes if the service is beeing shut down
