  wait, i take some of that back.  eventually, the router became
responsive again (both via browser and telnet), but i'm still unsure
as to whether the new image was flashed incompletely.

  also, another curiosity -- on the lua-based web page, the current
rev of the software is listed as "r14113", but the login message
describes the firmware as "r14127".  so what subversion commit
represents 8.09-rc2?  and is there something on the system that
clearly identifies that as the rc2 release?
