Subject: [SPAM] - [OpenWrt-Users] flashing my ASUS WL500GP V2 apparently
creates abrick - Email found in subject

based on a config file provided by michael buesch yesterday, i
updated my svn working copy to trunk, configured and successfully
built an openwrt-brcm47xx-squashfs.trx image, then followed the
instructions here:

http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Hardware/Asus/WL500GPV2

as in:

  1) put the router in diagnostic mode
  2) manually configured my laptop to have IP 192.168.1.2
  3) tftp'ed to the router (192.168.1.1)
  4) set tftp options trace, verbose, binary
  5) "put" the trx image, which generated the expected page after
page of packets and ACKs to and from the router
  6) let the router sit for several minutes

after which i power-cycled and ... nothing. can't ping, can't telnet,
can't browse. if anyone else has flashed that model of router, can
you see anything i did obviously wrong? thanks.

rday

p.s. just to make sure, i put it back in diag mode and went through
all the steps again, with the same result.

p.p.s. i skipped most of the steps on that web page since most of it
had to do with getting around issues with earlier kernels. i simply
built my image in one pass, and tried to flash.
