I have been reading about serial port debricking and

There are so many different options discussed that the
simplest situation gets lost in the complexity.

If your router has a usb port like the netgear WNDR3700 and
your computer has a usb port, does that mean that you can debrick
with a simple USB data cable like this?

Or is some voltage level changing or null modem wire swaping needed?
