Hi all,
dear PTLs,

as you might be aware, LFN is considering moving from a self-hosted
Gerrit+Jenkins environment to utilizing GitLab for source code and CI/CD
management. Because of this, two OPNFV projects, StorPerf and Kuberef, have
volunteered to test drive a GitLab-based workflow during the Jerma release
cycle.

However, those are just two projects with a limited number of developers and
use-cases. To make sure that we cover all aspects and use cases during the
GitLab evaluation - both the beneficial and challenging ones - I'd like to
encourage you to visit the GitLab evaluation tracker page Mark Beierl has
created:
https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/271347

The purpose of this page is to document the findings of the evaluation, list
best practices and raise questions about the GitLab workflow. We are actively
getting support from GitLab to get those questions answered. So, please think
about how a move to GitLab would relate to your project and post questions and
comments on the tracker page linked above.

Please note: your input is very valuable for the OPNFV / Anuket TSC which is
tasked to take a decision on this subject. Your input is needed so that we can
take a decision in the best interest of the community.

Best regards
Georg
