Body: 1. Overall description:
The ETSI ISG Zero-touch network and Service Management (ZSM) would like to
inform you of its ongoing work in the domains of Agents and Autonomy. This body
of work is focused on advancing and guiding the path toward network autonomy,
particularly through the integration of agent-based technologies.
"ETSI ZSM 020 (Agents in Autonomous Networks)" describes how agents can be used
for network and service management, including effective communication between
agents for coordinating tasks, sharing knowledge, and optimizing performance
across various applications.
"ETSI ZSM 021 (ZSM Framework from Automation to Autonomy)" examines the gap
between current work on automation and autonomy in network management and
operations. This report explores key scenarios where increased autonomy could
deliver significant value and identifies the incremental capabilities required.
These advancements are supported by the integration of key technologies,
including agents, closed-loop automation, intent-based management, and network
digital twins.
ETSI ISG ZSM would like to thank you for your consideration and looks forward
to future cooperation on these subjects.
2. Actions:
ETSI ISG ZSM requests feedback in case you have comments or plan to reference
the above-mentioned work. We further suggest exploring possibilities for
collaboration in this area.
3. Dates of next meetings of the originator:
ZSM#32 plenary Sep 8-10, 2025 Sophia Antipolis
Besides these meetings, ETSI ISG ZSM has weekly decision-making conference
calls on Mondays.
