Thanks, the master is sending email notifications fine, I made a couple of
changes and slaves seem to be sending notifications but no emails recieved.
We're using the default opsview mail setup, is there something we need to do on
the mail server to accept or relay messages from slaves perhaps?

Hi,
please check the /var/log/mail.log if
notifications are sent. If not, check /usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.log
if SERVICE NOTIFICATION are raised, like "SERVICE NOTIFICATION:
[user],[server].....
