Nick,

 

Make sure you don't have alerts enabled for Unreachable Hosts or Unknown
Services.

 

A host will alert as unreachable if its parent is down.

 

Review your host and service checks and see what they are set to alert
for.

 

We only alert Critical and Recovery.

Hello-

 

I have alerts set up, but if a parent device fails, i get the alerts for
all parent services and all services below that device. How can I
configure alerts to say "DEVICE DOWN" only if a parent is down and
suppress alerts from the services below it?
