First I tried one OU up but that failed so it seems the search does
not recurse sub-OU's?
This can be done already - set the 'user_scope' to be subtree and the
ou to the container up one in the tree

Another issue, there are no hosts displayed in opsview.user's profile
even though the permissions indicate that the user is in the "TEST"
group and the box is ticked.
(I suppose this is a separate problem?)
Can you elaborate on this more? Do you mean the user can see no
status's (statii?) within the hostgroup hierarchy pages but they have
all the correct servicegroups and hostgroups ticked on their contact
page? As a test can you tick 'all hostgroups' and 'all servicegroups'
and do a reload to see what the user sees then?

change some" which, as I understand it, will allow that user to partly
manage the hosts in it's assigned hostgroup (TEST).
But for some reason no hosts are visible (No matching hosts) at all when
logging in as that user.
If I log in as Administrator using the default local Admin account and
change the Role membership for opsview.user, to Administrator, then the
opsview.user account can see hosts (all of them in this case as it is
the Administrator role).
I experimented with creating my own role (VIEWSOME, ACTIONSOME,
NOTIFYSOME, RRDGRAPHS) adding the opsview.user account to it but got the
same behaviour.
I think the message "No matching hosts" is probably the key but cant
work out why it's not matching anything..
Thanks,
Andy.
