Hi guys,

I am looking to setup some checks to monitor backup exec jobs using SNMP traps.
I used to use the check_be executable from nagios exchange however our new
backup solution uses a number of policies to define daily, weekly and monthly
jobs for all servers (we have gone from cica 20 jobs to over 100 with the
disk-disk-tape).

What I need to be able to do is report on a weekly basis how many jobs were
success/failure/completed with exceptions and then list those that failed.

I guess that I would be able to configure the SNMP trap settings on the Backup
Exec server and click the "Send SNMP Notification" option in Backup Exec to
alert on the jobs then get Opsview to passively update the service checks once
each job completes and I can then query the data warehouse to export the check
results to my report.

Having not played with the SNMP traps at all before wondering if anyone has
tried this know how easy it would be to configure and maybe give some pointers
on getting the checks setup?

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Kind regards,
Matt
