nothing with reverse tunnels either. looking at the nagios.log file it
appeared as if the slave thought it was the master server – running a real-time
tail on the nagios.log file was scrolling the screen faster than I could read
it. I just removed the nagios directory and refreshed the slave software and
things appear to be working now.

thanks for your help Mark.

that was something else that I had done also – forgot to list it. the other
slave servers came up just fine after the upgrade, just the one that is giving
me fits.

just did my upgrade to 3.3.2 and I have one slave server that is showing
everything unknown on the master for both the slave and the hosts that it
monitors. I have gone through and verified things here:

<http://docs.opsview.org/doku.php?id=opsview3:troubleshootingstales&s%5b%5d=slave&s%5b%5d=unknown>
  without any luck. I can log into the web interface on the slave and see that
everything is working properly – just not transmitting the information to the
master.

any ideas?
