Hi!
I asked for different freshness settings before on this list. So let me
rephrase that:
Here, we switched from (pure) Nagios to an Opsview Monitoring Cluster.
With Nagios it is very easy to configure different freshness_thresholds.
I consider this a very powerful option, useful for any kind of batch or
time triggered jobs.
Yet I haven't seen how Opsview gives me similar possibilities. Also I
can't see how SNMP traps provide a similar functionality. Yeah, I could
write log files and then check if the logfile is recent ... But as
Nagios got the functionality why don't let Nagios do it?
Ergo: It looks like a trivial change to Opsview:
-- manage two more config lines per service:
- 'check_freshness'
- 'freshness_threshold'
-- add a checkbox and a input field to the GUI
So why not add it? (This is a feature request)
And maybe I can get it sponsored. But I need to know how to sponsor. So
please let me know hot to join the party.
