Hello William,

We also use Opsview to monitor Exchange 2003 (and in fact also Exchange
2007).

Be sure to use double slashes (\\) instead of single slashes in your
service definitions , this is needed bij opsview/nagios.

Troublshoot would be better if you supply some information like :
Opsview Version
Opsview OS Version
Service defninition on your Microsoft Exchange Mail Submission check.

Also note : Localized versions of Exchange or Server have the counters
in their native language , that's why we have some exeptions on the
dutch servers.

Met vriendelijke groet,
Peter Plate

Subject: [opsview-users] Monitoring Exchange 2003, some questions

Hi all,
I'm relatively new to both Opsview and Nagios as well as monitoring in
general and I've just set up an Opsview box that is, in the main, doing
a really nice job.

I am however running into a few issues with monitoring our Exchange 2003
server and some tests just not working at all. In particular Largest
Delivery Queue Length, Microsoft Exchange Mail Submission and Retry
Mailbox Delivery Queue Length. Output is as follows:

Largest Delivery Queue Length
    Status: Unknown
    Information: ERROR: \MSExchangeTransport Queues(_total)\Largest
Delivery Queue Length: PdhAddCounter failed: -1073738824: The specified
object is not found on the system.

Microsoft Exchange Mail Submission
    Status: Critical
    Information: CRITICAL: MSExchangeMailSubmission: not found
(critical)

Retry Mailbox Delivery Queue Length
    Status: Unknown
    Information: ERROR: \MSExchangeTransport Queues(_total)\Largest
Delivery Queue Length: PdhAddCounter failed: -1073738824: The specified
object is not found on the system.

Is this something that's designed for more recent versions of Exchange
or am I missing some configuration somewhere?

Cheers,
  - Bill Standen
