This is the first time I see this error. OW version is 3.5.2 running
on CentOS 5.4 64bit
That's a bug. I've raised a ticket about it:

However, a host without any services is not much use, which is why we
don't display it in the Host group hierarchy pages: http://docs.opsview.org/doku.php?id=opsview-community:importantconcepts#host_and_services
So if you add a service to the host, a force check will work.
