We're running Opsview 3.5.2, and I just ran into a problem with SNMP. I'm querying a Cisco router (to graph interface throughput) using SNMP v1, and it works fine - EXCEPT I get lots of graph dropouts, probably due to 32-bit counter overflow. I attempted to switch to SNMP v2c using the web interface radio button (with the hope that Opsview supports ver 2c 64-bit counters), but that completely breaks SNMP - Opsview reports "UNKNOWN: SNMP error when scanning interface list: No response from remote host '<host-ip>' Command-line SNMP queries to the router work normally using both version 1 and 2c, and the "Query Host" function (in the Opsview web intfc) also works properly. Anyone have any ideas?
SNMPv1 doesn't support 64 bit counters. Can you reconfigure your router to accept SNMPv2c?
The interface checks will automatically query the 64 bit counters if possible.
I've update the docs for interfaces at http://docs.opsview.org/doku.php?id=opsview-community:host#snmp_interfaces Ton _______________________________________________ Opsview-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.opsview.org/lists/listinfo/opsview-users
