I’m having a hard time finding the root password for the VMWare version of OpsView.  The instructions state using the “conf” account and “su root” but it does not contain the password.  I simply want to set the time and am unable to do so.

As user conf use 'sudo su -' with the password 'conf' - you can then change the root password as you wish.
