Hi had a similar problem and I used host groups and the status summary
for the "technical view", and viewport by keywords for the customer
centric view.
You can also have different viewport styles calling the url in a
different way. I have not too much knowledge of this, I've read this on:

This is based on version 3.7.0, I've read the changelog of version 3.7.1
and there are some changes in viewport handling (it's been released
today..).
