Hi Richard, We use the NTI Enviromux mini for this. Not cheap, but it works very well. It has numerous sensors which you can read out via SNMP. I made a check script for this myself which I can provide if you like.
If you like to go cheap, you can create your own sensor with the DS18S20 sensor. A bit of soldering and some wires will provide you a working sensor. Use digitemp to read it out and wrap it into a script to use it in Nagios.
