Try Googling "nagios check by ssh" It's essentially the same.
AFAIK, when it works from the command line on the server it'll work form within Opsview - though I am not presently using 'check by ssh'

No advice on this? Has anyone had experience running check_by_ssh commands? The commands run OK when performed normally on the remote machine. Searched all over for info on how to configure the remote machine to execute those commands on behalf of the server. No luck. What I do find is documentation on how to configure Opsview slave servers, but that's not what I need. I have to be able to enable the monitoring server to execute the check_by_ssh commands on the remote (monitored) server. Kindly provide link to documentation or reply with instructions. Someone wrote a post about enabling nagios ssh commands by placing keys in /usr/local/nagios/etc/keys. I could find nothing of the sort in the Opsview documentation and it's not clear what he means by which server: http://wiki.nagios.org/index.php/Howtos:checkbyssh_RedHat In need of clarification.
