Is there any way I can simply insert them into the database? Opsview is
working great I just don't get down notifications at the moment(somewhat
important :) )

I have opsview installed and polling all my servers and it works great.
However I'm not getting notified when things go down or up.
I looked at my contacts and under contact variables it simply will not save it
when I type in
EMAIL and then in the other box my email address.

When I go to then reload config it gives me the following error.
warning

Missing required variable EMAIL_VAR for contact Chris for notification method
Email - ignoring this notification

Any idea?

What's EMAIL_VAR? This looks like a new contact variable that you've setup for
the Email notification method? This is EMAIL on a fresh install.
