Hi Steven, Just to make it clear, "TorDNS" isn't written by any of the Tor developers. In fact, I don't believe any of us have even tested or tried to run it. To make it more fun, last I checked, there are multiple programs out there called TorDNS (none of which are written/tried/etc by the Tor developers). So, you're on your own here. If you get it working, you might want to document it better than the author has. :) And look through the source code to see if it's something you're happy running.
