(snip) While I don't think much of physical destruction either, the "encrypted storage" method might be problematic for legal reasons, at least in the UK. If the police were to ask you to provide encryption keys (which they are now allowed to do), and you have "lost" the keys, they can put you away, even if the data on the drive would not have incriminated you. Thoughts?
