*1) Senior Cognos Enterprise Architect * *Duration: 7 months* *Location: Raritan, NJ* *Position Summary* Looking for a strong Cognos Architect to define Architecture and Implement Shared platform for Cognos 8.3/8.4 implementation. The Cognos Architect leads all aspects of the delivery of Cognos 8.3/8.4 platform & related components. The Cognos Architect understands business challenges & translates them into requirements/solutions. This is a hands-on consulting delivery role. The Cognos Architect has experience designing, developing and implementing complex Cognos 8 platform. *Position Description: * - Define or guide the definition of technical architecture to meet business requirements in infrastructure and applications products implementations - Ability to accurately capture and document architecture design and systems requirements - Experience with application development and system architecture design - Provide infrastructure sizing, including hardware and software requirements - Provide technical leadership to project teams - Mentor technical consultants who provide technical services during product implementations - Define or assist with best practices during implementation and integration of Cognos Platform - Plan, design and execute performance tests of the platform - Analyze, troubleshoot and / or tune product performance or deployment issues when required, either during implementations or post go-live - Develop and Document technical architecture, system design, performance test results and other technical aspects of the implementation - Provide advice to customers on defining the optimum technical architecture to meet business requirements - Develop proven practices and develop standards, including those around change control, security, source code, portal design, data store considerations, metrics store best practices, reporting/query/analytical best practices, etc. *Requirements: * - 10+ years of product implementation, system integration or development experience with solid understanding of Cognos 8 BI & Cognos Planning Architecture and Administration - Experience with application development and system architecture design - Proficient in implementing user level and data level securities within Cognos - Strong expertise with Cognos platform sizing, troubleshooting, tuning & disaster recovery - Strong technical background with Data warehouse experience preferred - Complete understanding of data warehouse modeling, architectures, OLAP, OLTP data sets, etc. - Experience managing relationships with clients at the senior technical management level *Non-Technical Skills: * Candidate must have excellent communications, business consulting, technical and project management skills. This role is responsible for: the Cognos Planning platform, including architecture design and software installation. The ideal candidate will combine strong Cognos Planning architecture background with strong Operating system and Hardware expertise. The role will work closely with internal BI Team to ensure that the Cognos Planning Platform is configured optimally to support business needs. *Position Description: * - Define or guide the definition of technical architecture to meet business requirements in infrastructure and applications products implementations - Primary role would be to install and administer Cognos products.
