*Duration:* *1 Year* *Rate: DOE* * * *Primary Skills:* *System and network administration of AIX development* and test environments and related *production application deployment activities*; *identifying internal and external needs (architecture, scalability, physical requirements, etc.)* *Secondary Skills:* *Installing, configuring, upgrading and maintaining AIX workstations and servers*, including operating systems, web servers, printers and queues; resources; *power management, and TCP/IP services in accordance with established policies* *Optional Skills:* Any certifications are a plus * * *Position description:* Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. *Job Responsibilities: * *System and network administration of AIX development and test environments and* related production application deployment activities; identifying internal and external needs (architecture, scalability, physical requirements, etc.); installing, configuring, upgrading and *maintaining AIX workstations and servers,* including operating systems, web servers, printers and queues; resources; power management, and *TCP/IP services in accordance with established policies*, procedures and service level agreements; monitoring, evaluating, identifying problems with hardware / software installation and operation and tuning the system to achieve optimum level of performance; backing up the system, applications, and application data files and restore files from tape in accordance with backup and recovery processes; working closely with customer, requirements, development, database, deployment and test personnel to deliver high quality software.
