Understanding of Credit Risk , Risk Management, and a wide variety of Investment Banking products Team Overview The Strategic and Tactical Applications and Reporting team (STAR) is responsible for delivering RAD applications and ad-hoc reporting to GFRM globally. The team is based in London and is currently 10 strong, with expansion into NYK imminent. The team sits within the business rather than IT but works closely with Risk IT when required. STAR also acts as business sponsor to strategic databases and applications built by Risk IT. Main Duties Role Building tactical applications using reporting services, C#, Microsoft packages – projects can last from days to months. Writing ad-hoc reports for regulators as well as GFRM Advising team on development standards Taking requirements for applications and reports from GFRM, Senior Management and other departments i.e. front office Provide two pairs of eyes checking on reports produced by other members of the team Peer review code Provide guidance on the meaning and usage of data to users of our data When required provide cover for team leader Help prioritise the teams work Deputise in absence of the team leader Team Mentoring Provide technical guidance on an ongoing basis Provide 1-1 and group training on technology Person Requirements Juggle multiple projects Design and build proof of concept prototype solutions often with little to no user requirements. Must be able to talk with both business users, quants and technology Work well under pressure, can meet tight deadlines and is committed to work as and when required to complete projects. Be able to communicate effectively with Business users who are specialists in their own fields (e.g. Hedge Fund team members, TPEM). Be able to take the initiative to background-read before meetings in order to provide context to the meeting. Be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management. Business skills Understanding of Credit Risk and a wide variety of Investment Banking products Be able to develop a thorough understanding of the business data that we provide Play an active role in decisions around when and how new data is introduced to the reporting database.
