Position : Sr. (SQL) Data "Architect" Location : Washington DC Duration : 3-6months Responsibilities: SSRS reporting (SQL 2012/2014) Building and designing templates Scalability of data architecture Understand redundancies in current data Data retention / archiving Understanding different data points (where is it coming from, where is it going, how it’s used, how it should be organized. “Strategy” for data in the future Proactive thinking. The ideal resource for this position will have experience in building an enterprise data strategy for Farmer Mac using industry standard frameworks such as Data Maturity Management (DMM), Data Management Capability Assessment (DCAM), not limited to the following clusters. Data Security Data Consistency Data Accessibility KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Must have current hands-on experience with implementation of large database and tier-1 and tier-2 type solutions. Knowledge and experience are required in designing, planning, building, and deploying (release, maintenance, monitoring) solutions including several of the following: Designing, developing, and coordinating Enterprise Metadata Strategy, including repository implementation and maintenance Developing Investment Operations reports using SSRS, including creating generic template reports that users can customize Reviewing the data and technology architecture design of key application projects to ensure alignment with the enterprise standards and target architecture/roadmap Reverse engineer current SQL Server applications and fine tune them for performance enhancement and optimization. Expertise with Database performance tuning at multiple level (Application, Database, Network, etc.) - identifying DB performance bottlenecks and addressing such issues through appropriate solutions. Experience with Data Traceability / Lineage cataloging. Facilitate proactive impact analysis in scenarios like server maintenance, Database outage, Database Load Analysis, Network Load Analysis, Application Deployment etc. A deep understanding of, and ability to use and explain all aspects of application integration in .NET and data integration with SQL Server and associated technologies and standards,Expert level knowledge in at least one and deep knowledge of the following Enterprise Server technology areas is also required: SQ L Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Office SharePoint Server Enterprise features, and PerformancePoint Server.
