Immediate need of .Net Developer at CT for 2 months Contract !!! Position : . Net Developer Contract Duration: 2 months Location: New Haven, Connecticut Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field and a minimum of five years’ experience in the support of vendor and custom applications. Excellent communication skills – verbal and written. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with ITS and client personnel Excellent organizational skills, including keeping track of multiple issues, problems, and priorities. Experience with .NET framework (ASP.NET, VB.NET), MVC, C#, HTML, JavaScript, XML, XSLT, SSRS, and SSIS. Windows script development experience (a MUST) Experience implementing and managing vendor solutions is REQUIRED !. Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server 2005/2008), and the ability to compose SQL scripts and queries. Experience with Windows server architecture (Windows 2003, 2008), application server concepts, and the understanding of Windows permissions and Active Directory Preferred, but not required: Experience with general Web architecture, such as browsers and middle tier Familiar with consuming Web services and WSDL’s Familiar with version control systems, such as SVN Familiar with release management, deployment management, service management, and QA processes Familiar with a variety of technologies and tools, such as HP Deployment manager, Hibernate, Visual Studio, Informatica, OBIEE and other reporting tools. Previous experience working in Research Administration application support with products such as InfoEd and Click Commerce. Experience with Oracle Forms, PLSQL, and Java Description: This position supports vendor application solutions which provide administrative support for the University’s research mission. This position is focused primarily on supporting the daily operations of vendor package solutions, including coordinating patches, bundles, and upgrades. It also involves working closely with ITS and clients to ensure the packages are running efficiently. Essential Duties Support activities to implement vendor software patches, bundles, and upgrades. Work closely with the vendor, clients, and ITS to schedule and coordinate vendor and ITS activities, including frequent deployments from development to production environments. Work with the vendor, ITS, and clients to test patches, bundles, and upgrades. Work with the ITS Infrastructure team to schedule activities such as database backups, refreshes, and restores. Also work with them to identify and troubleshoot technical issues and problems with applications, including but not limited to long-running queries, significant response times, and record locking conditions. Submit ServiceNow requests for tasks to be performed by ITS personnel to support activities. Work with the ITS Infrastructure team to identify and understand all system, network, and server monitoring currently in place for packages. Work with the same group, vendor, and other ITS personnel to identify additional monitoring opportunities and assist with the implementation of them. Develop scripts as required. Develop and run ad-hoc reports to analyze data. Perform technical and functional impact analysis of vendor patches. Assist with troubleshooting application problems and the resolution of same. Work closely with ITS and client personnel to support the daily operations of the applications and upgrades. Configure vendor packages. Some custom application development may be required. Position may require off-hours system support.
