Role: Business Analyst Location: Wilmington DE 19802 Duration: 6-12 Months *Rate: $50/hr on C2C* This Business Analyst will be responsible for the research and analysis of the COBOL programs that generate the quarterly federal reporting and the corresponding Data Validation Populations. More specifically, research and analyze the data that is used as input for, and the generated output from, the above components. The goal is to resolve the discrepancies between the programs that are run to compute the Quarterly reports and Validation files. BA1 Years of Relevant Experience: Up to 4 years Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent Role Description: Knowledge of formal requirements gathering methodologies. Experience conducting one on one interview for requirements analysis. Experience reading COBOL, JCL, VSAM and flat file output to determine data validity. Experience developing User Requirements for the required outcome for the reports. The User needs will have to be correctly interpreted. Experience developing Report Specifications - define the purpose of a report, its justification, attributes and columns, owners and runtime parameters. Experience developing Requirements Traceability Matrix - a cross matrix for recording the requirements through each stage of the requirements gathering process. Strong organization and writing skills. Required / Desired Skills Prior experience in the analysis of Cobol applications and reports generated from them VSAM and flat files. Past experience working with JCL Past experience working with VSAM. Proven past experience in deciphering program output Ability to document where/what each program is drawing from to compile results. Strong interpersonal communication skills to interview and retain process by which incumbents manually process reports now.
